    Laura,
    Surfing the Internet I found this:
    Symbolism in The Storyteller
    In “The Storyteller”, Saki establishes a theme of humility. Bertha’s medals
    symbolize narcissism, and lead to her downfall. Arrogance is also in the Aunt.
